Newsletter-October 1st

Reading Books:
Ms. Comilla’s and Mrs. Dobson’s groups have reading books. Shortly after fall break, Mrs. Diane, Mrs. Gloria, Mrs. Beth, and Mrs. Patti will be giving reading books to their groups. It is very important for students to read each night and return his/her book to school the next day. Please help your child remember to put the book in his/her backpack as soon as they are finished with it each night.

Spelling Tests
Soon after fall break, we will begin to have weekly spelling tests. This week with lesson 29 or 30 in phonics, your child brought home a list of words that he/she should easily be able to read. Our spelling words will come from these lists. We will have 1 list each week. The spelling tests will start with only 3 words and a bonus.

Students of the Month
September Students of the Month were chosen for being responsible. Congratulations and thank you to the following students: Trenton, Hailey M., Halie S., Collin, Zachary, and McKenzie.

Just a Reminder
· Saturday, October 2, football, 10 am.
· Fall Break, October 4-10
· Book Fair, October 11-15
· Oops!! The permission form for the field trip says that we are going to Wurth Farms. We are actually going to Schmidt Farms (also in Paducah). So, please excuse the error. You may change the form if you like. But, we are going to Schmidt Farms on October 22. Thanks.

At Home Practice
Do you want your child to get ahead? See if he or she can write all of the capital and lowercase letters correctly. Can your child count to 50? Can he or she write the numbers to 10 without help?
