March 4th Newsletter
Math Groups:
Mrs. Beth’s math group will be continuing addition facts by writing problems and answers.
Mrs. Dobson’s math group is continuing to practice addition facts by writing number sentences and learning to create patterns with pattern blocks.
Mrs. Diane’s math group will learn about the quarter next week and will review all coins. We will also be having a test on writing numbers 1-60 without help. This test is timed for 5 minutes.
Spelling Words:

Obleck:
On Wednesday, we had an amazing celebration of reading with Read Across America Day (aka, Dr. Seuss’ birthday). We read the book Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Many of our students are wanting to recreate this magic potion at home so here are the “secret” ingredients: cornstarch, water, food coloring. Add water slowly and it just takes a very small amount. Discuss with your child if you think this is a solid or a liquid.
Dates to Remember:
· March 10, Spring Pictures
· March 15-18, Book fair.
· March 16, Grandparent Lunch
· March 17, Parent-teacher conferences with report cards handed out.
Classroom Supplies:
We have some exciting spring activities planned, but we will need some help from you. Please save empty toilet paper rolls and egg cartons (Styrofoam or cardboard). We need more than 100 toilet tissue rolls, so please send them in as you get them. Thanks.
