August 9th-13th Newsletter

First Few Days:
Our students are doing a wonderful job learning the routines of our school day. They have been terrific at following directions, transitioning from one activity to another, and visiting other parts of our school building. Thank you for making the first few days of school go so smoothly. You are your child’s first and most important teacher. You set the stage for the entire day. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job. In today’s folder you will find a homework packet for next week. Please refer to the calendar on the front. In September, you will receive one packet for the entire month. You can work on the assignments anytime. Just please remember to send them back in your child’s folder when they are due. Please remember that the teacher may not be in the room until 7:20. Students arriving before the first bell should go to the gym and wait for the bell before going to the room.

New Information:
We are purchasing a science magazine called “Studies Weekly.” Students will receive this color magazine with real photographs each week. It goes right along with everything we will be studying this year in science. The cost is $5 for the year. Please try to send this as soon as possible. Thanks.
Please remember to wear tennis shoes on PE days for your safety. Mrs. Beth’s class and Mrs. Dobson’s half-Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs. Diane’s class and Mrs. Dobson’s half-Monday and Wednesday.
Next week we will begin really working hard on handwriting, shapes, colors, and counting to 20, We will be singing and saying days and months as well. Please ask your child each day what exciting activities they did at school. Great job checking and returning folders!! We will also continue to learn and reinforce our 3 expectations. 1.
